Wisconsin Dells, fondly known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World,” is a paradise for families. This lively city is packed with massive waterparks, natural wonders, kid-oriented dining, indoor amusements, captivating live shows, and much more.

We’ve curated the top 35 things to do in Wisconsin Dells with Kids. Here’s your guide to exploring this magical wonderland with your little ones.

Best Activities in Wisconsin Dells with Kids

New to the Dells in 2025

Escapology

We were thrilled to find an Escape Room so conducive to families participating.

Escapology has a unique “Kids Mode” for four of their themed escape rooms making the missions more achievable for groups of kids or families with young kids.

We tackled the newest room, Batman: The Dark Knight, and finished with less than 90 seconds to spare!

Our kids were armed with a clipboard to help guide them on which puzzle we should focus on next. They loved being in charge of turning keys, collecting clues, typing in codes, and pressing buttons.

You are able to leave the room at any time (crucial for kids’ bathroom breaks.) Every booking is private so won’t be mixed in with strangers and can better work through puzzles at your group’s pace. We can’t wait to go back ourselves and try the Scooby Doo room next.

Sneaky Pete’s Dinner Show

The laughter was off the charts at our table while we watched the new Sneaky Pete’s dinner show in Wisconsin Dells with kids.

Your experience starts with an all-you-can-eat, family-style feast: fried chicken, pulled pork, mac & cheese, corn, mashed potatoes, fresh bread, delicious rolls, and dessert.

Just before showtime, the kids were welcomed onstage to do the Chicken Dance.

Once the show started, my kids were literally on the edge of their seats and enthralled throughout the entire performance. The talent was incredible; singing, dancing, acrobatics, pyrotechnics, and animal performers!

The theater offers a variety of celebrated shows year round. Check them out on the theater’s website. Check out their 3pm showings, perfect for families who want to respect bedtime routines.

Wisconsin Dells Mountain Coaster

At long last, Wisconsin has a Mountain Coaster! What a great addition to Wisconsin Dells.

We’ve done our fair share of alpine and mountain coasters and this was one of the smoothest rides we’ve experienced. The tracks are fully immersed in the forest, it is a beautiful ride. I’d even call it serene if we hadn’t been flying through at 27mph.

Book your tickets online to save time! You can purchase a single ride or, better yet, save money by buying a 3 pack.

Riders need to be a minimum of 38″. To drive, they must be at least 56″ tall.

Dawn Manor

Reserve a table online before you go.

Start your Dawn Manor experience in their downstairs speakeasy, Uphoff Rotunda. Catch happy hour’s 25% discount on Sunday to Thursday from 3:30pm – 6:00pm. Make sure to try the Cheese Curds!

Then, check in for you dinner reservation where you’ll your meal will kickoff with small pours of their house made Dream Soda. Kids will love it!

My kids devoured their kids meals and I was swooning over the Salmon dish I ordered. I’m told you can’t go wrong with anything from the menu.

Waterparks Galore

While waterparks seem to be the obvious attraction, choosing between the titans of indoor waterpark resorts – Great Wolf Lodge, Wilderness Resort, and Kalahari – can be tough.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is perfect for younger kids with areas like Cub Paw Pool that are designed for toddlers. It’s the only park I take my kids 5 and under.

Insider tip: Signup for their emailed special events and promotions. We jump on their $99 / night deals.

Wilderness Resort

The Wilderness Resort is America’s largest waterpark resort with four indoor waterparks. The Wild WaterDome, home to a massive indoor wave pool, is a definite must-visit. It is an ideal option when visiting the Dells with large groups or extended family.

Kalahari Resort

The Kalahari Resort offers unique attractions like the FlowRider wave simulator and a water coaster called the Master Blaster. In my opinion, this is the resort that is the most epic for teens.

Insider tip: Look out for discounted after 5pm passes available to those not staying at the resort. Also, in 2026, watch for Kalahari’s new Adventure Collection.

Mt. Olympus

Although I wouldn’t call it one of the “Titans of the Dells” in terms of Indoor parks, Mt. Olympus is another family favorite for older kids, offering really unique water slides. Don’t miss the chance to plunge down the 10-story water slide (America’s tallest) or their mind bending rotating water slide.

Insider tip: Mt. Olympus has been buying up ma and pop hotels all over the Dells. If you’re booking lodging here, make sure to check the location of your room when you book so you aren’t stuck taking a shuttle anytime you want to use the amenities.

Noah’s Ark – America’s Largest Waterpark

Open seasonally, America’s largest waterpark is Noah’s Ark. From the Black Anaconda, one of America’s most terrifying water coasters, to the relaxing wave pools and lazy rivers, Noah’s Ark has something for everyone.

Don’t miss out on the Scorpion’s Tail, America’s first nearly vertical waterslide loop. It’s a heart-stopping experience that older kids and adults will love!

  1. Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf: This family-friendly course is known for its unique golf holes spread across five different courses. The course offers a fun-filled adventure with a pirate theme. It’s the best in the Dells in our opinion.
  2. Timber Falls Adventure Golf: With three different 18-hole courses featuring thundering waterfalls and rugged terrain along the scenic shoreline of the Wisconsin River, this course promises an unforgettable mini-golf experience.
  3. Tom Foolery’s Adventure Park: Part of the Kalahari Resort, this indoor amusement park features a 9 hole mini golf course.

Magic Show

For an evening of grand illusion, visit the Rick Wilcox Magic Theater. Families have been raving about this 90 minute show for over 20 years!

Dells Duck Tour

Embark on an exciting land and water adventure with the Dells Duck Tour. These WWII amphibious vehicles take you through beautiful wilderness trails and splash down into the river for a scenic cruise.  Throughout you’ll learn some interesting tidbits of Dells history.

You’ll be astonished by the natural beauty of the area once you get away from the ‘strip.’  Kids are mesmerized seeing the land vehicle drive right into the river. (My kids fell for the driver’s joke and held their breath.)

Indoor Amusements

Beyond waterparks, Wisconsin Dells is home to large scale indoor amusements like roller coasters, go-karts, and carnival rides that promise endless fun even with the weather isn’t on your side.

Just a short drive from Wisconsin Dells, the Baraboo Circus Museum provides a peek into the rich history of the American circus.   Baraboo was the summer headquarters for the The Ringling Brothers’ circus at the peak of their popularity.   The museum is packed with colorful exhibits, incredibly restored wagons, and interactive displays.

Our boys most enjoyed the models of the trains that would carry the circus performers and equipment from city to city.

Make sure to arrive early! When we got there at 3:15, just 15 minutes after they opened the doors, there was already a 90 minute wait for dinner.  Drinks and appetizers do not require a reservation though, which was honestly more relaxing when visiting with two little ones.

Camping in Wisconsin Dells with Kids

Camping in Wisconsin Dells offers the perfect blend of outdoor adventure and family fun.  Here are two spots we recommend for camping near Wisconsin Dells with Kids.

For a more rustic experience, check out Mirror Lake State Park or Devil’s Lake State Park. Book up to 365 days in advance to snag one of these coveted campsites.

For a campground filled with kid friendly entertainment, we love campsites 21 or 22 at Merry Mac’s Campground which have a great view of the jumping pillow to keep an eye on the kids while prepping meals or relaxing by your fire. It’s also easy access to the lagoon full of Wibit inflatables, mini golf, the general store, and the shower and restrooms.
