Epic Universe Food and Attractions article featured image

This guide pulls together the best Epic Universe food and attractions by land to help you decide what’s worth your time (and money), what’s skippable, and how to pace it all.

Epic Universe is an encore of Universal’s knack for immersive lands and themed food and attractions.

If this is your first Epic Universe visit, I recommend reading our Epic Universe tips next.

Epic Universe Food & Attractions at a Glance

Epic Universe is divided into five distinct lands:

  • Celestial Park – the centerpiece and food hub that connects all the portals
  • Dark Universe – moody, immersive, and memorably good food
  • Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, a Butterbeer treat, and spellbinding cocktails
  • Isle of Berk – family-friendly with filling snacks and meals
  • Super Nintendo World – interactive chaos, colorful snacks, and fun popcorn buckets

Mobile ordering is essential at peak times. We suggest downloading the Universal Orlando mobile app and setting up your credit card before you enter the park for the easiest Epic Universe Food experience.

Also be sure to invest in a Freestyle cup to fill up throughout the day, as I’ll be sharing 3 exclusive flavors!

Celestial Park Food & Attractions

Celestial Park is the first land you’ll encounter upon entering Epic Universe so let’s start here.

Best Attractions in Celestial Park

Arguably the best thrill ride in the entirety of Epic Universe is Stardust Racers; a dueling rollercoaster. This is, hands down, my favorite ride in Epic and it’s even better after dark.

We suggest sitting at least 7 rows back so you experience the momentary panic of a collision with the other train before twisting out of each others’ paths.

Another magical experience at night is the Celestial Carousel. (But the ride times are far shorter during the day.)

Kids can also cool off at this splash pad behind the Carousel.

Pizza Moon

Pizza Moon is impossible to miss and it’s definitely worth the stop.

  • Get the Pizza Lunare. It was a major stand out for me in the park as it’s topped with some of my favorites: roasted garlic béchamel, fromage de lune, creamy ricotta, and pancetta. Plus, its very on theme with its celestial purple ube crust.
  • The Brownie Eclipse is rich, shareable dessert topped with toasted marshmallows.
  • The Speechless Astronomer IPA is an exclusive beer in Epic Universe.

This is a great late lunch or early dinner spot when other lands are slammed. We found wait times for food to be reasonable here, even when busy.

Oak & Star Tavern

This is where you go for Epic Universe food when you’re really hungry and want full portioned meals. The Smoked Brisket is tender and generously portioned and the Mango Bread is subtly sweet and perfect as a shared side.

Atlantic Restaurant

Our verdict: Skip it. Atlantic is meant to be an elevated dining experience when it comes to Epic Universe food, but the slow (unapologetic) service and underwhelming flavors made it fall flat.

Blue Dragon

An alternative sit down, upscale eatery is Blue Dragon. The menu is Asian Fusion and we love the Bento Box kids meals. Snag a reservation in the app.

Noteworthy Quick Service in Celestial Park

  • Customizable Ice Cream at Frosty Moon is so fun for kids
  • Celestial Steamed Buns (Star Sui Bao) are quick, delicious, and easy to eat on the go
  • Bulgogi Dog (from Comet Dogs) is more like a sandwich and is very flavorful

Exclusive Freestyle Flavor

Only available at Freestyle stations in this land, the Celestial Spritz (sparkling lemondade).

Dark Universe Food & Attractions

Dark Universe theming is moody and the food experiences are immersive.

Attractions Overview

This land leans darker and scarier so when we visit with kids we’ve skipped it.

Monsters Unchained is incredibly cinematic. Curse of the Werewolf is a thrilling ride with unexpected twists, literally. But we wouldn’t wait for more than 45 minutes for either of these rides.

Like Ise of Berk, this land is quietest in the morning.

Burning Blade Tavern

Burning Blade Tavern is the most immersive dining location in Epic Universe.

  • Burning Cheddar Bites are addictive and perfect with a drink to balance the spice
  • Hunter’s Garlic Stake is hearty and sharable

Ask for the Crossbow — a secret menu drink item not listed anywhere. It’s made with Darkthorne Mead and Strongbow Gold Apple Cider.

De Lacey’s Cottage

I walked right passed this on my first visit, but its a tucked away little gem. Their Warm Hearted Cinnamon Roll Bites are soft and sweet. The Frank ‘n’ Friends Pretzel is easy to share and shaped like Frankenstein’s monster.

Das Stakehouse

This is where you need to lean into the atmosphere because the food is generally reviewed as average.

I’d say this is only worth it if Dark Universe is your favorite land.

Exclusive Freestyle Flavor

Only available at Freestyle stations in Dark Universe, the Screaming Berry (blue raspberry soda).

Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

There may not be many attractions per say, but there’s still a lot going on in this land.

Must-See Attractions

The key attraction here is Battle of the Ministry. People wait up to 3 hours to experience this ride, but we’ve had good luck waiting 60 minutes or less after 8:30pm. Note: This ride seems to break down often.

If you want to experience the queue without actually getting on the ride, follow the signage to the “Viewing Platform.” This way you can experience the floo transportation (great for kids!) and enjoy the interior theming without the long wait.

The other main attraction in this land is to see the show under the circus tents, called Le Cirque Arcanus. Line up about 30 minutes before show time, as they do fill up and close the queue. It’s themed around Fantastic Beasts.

Café L’air De La Sirène

Food service was incredibly slow for us. We only ordered the Bièraubeurre Crepe, (mobile order) and once we checked in at our table it still took 45 minutes to come out. So just be prepared to wait.

The $19.99 Bièraubeurre Crepe was so sweet we were glad we shared it amongst our family, but it was delicious.

K. Rammelle

This sweets shop is not to be missed! Stop in for a candy souvenir like the Chocolate Frogs or a more unique box of candy Frog Legs.

Our favorites here though are the macarons!

Le Gobelet Noir

Try the shareable, savory Alchemist’s Platter for $27.99.

Bar Moonshine

We go to Bar Moonshine for the Lobe Blaster, one of the most creative drinks in the park. It costs $17.99 and is made of moonshine, limoncello, absinthe, lemon juice, club soda, and simple syrup. There’s a fun elixir topping too.

Butterbeer Carts

Just like in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade, in Wizarding France you’ll find Butterbeer Carts.

If you’re big on Harry Potter, this section pairs perfectly with our Harry Potter World tips guide for Universal’s other two theme parks as well.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

Isle of Berk is bright, friendly, and incredibly well-suited for families.

Attractions Overview

My son’s favorite ride in Epic Universe is Hiccup’s Wing Gliders. The best time to ride is first thing in the morning when everybody else is rope dropping Battle of the Ministry and Mine Cart Madness.

Dragon Racer’s Rally was one and done for us. It wasn’t worth waiting more than 30 minutes.

Fyre Drill is a boat ride with fountains and water canons so it’s great for really hot days.

The top attraction in this land though is the Untrainable Dragon live performance. You really cannot miss it!

If you want to meet Toothless, line up for the queue at least 30 minutes in advance. Wait times are up to two hours for this fascinating dragon. (If you can wait until late in the evening, his late appearances generally have shorter lines.)

Mead Hall

This is comfort food done right and a great place to rest and cool off. Barf and Belch’s Duo Plate is a great item for kids, its under $10 and served in a tray shaped like a Viking ship.

Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel

From the day Epic Universe opened, people can’t stop talking about the PB&J Mac and Cheese Cone. PB&J stands for Pork, Bacon, and Jam. It lives up to the hype.

The ever popular PB&J Mac in a cone menu item at Grog & Gruel. A fan favorite Epic Universe Food.

Exclusive Freestyle Flavor

Only available at Freestyle stations in Isle of Berk, the Dragon Splash (Citrusy: Mello Yello + Fanta Lime).

Super Nintendo World Food & Attractions

This land is loud, busy, and incredibly fun!

Must-Try Attractions

Expect longer waits for rides in this land. Plan snacks strategically to help get through them!

Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is the headline attraction, blending physical sets with augmented reality headsets so you can race through familiar courses, toss shells, collect coins, and actively compete as part of the ride. Wait times hover around 100-120 minutes throughout the day.

Yoshi’s Adventure is calmer and designed for all ages, taking riders on a slow-moving journey through the Mushroom Kingdom where spotting hidden eggs and soaking in colorful scenery. Jump in line if you see it is at 20 minutes or less.

Rounding out the land is Mine-Cart Madness, a Donkey Kong–themed family coaster that uses clever track design to create the illusion of jumping gaps and flying off the rails. Wait times typically do not drop below 120 minutes during the day.

Toadstool Café

Bowser’s Fireball Challenge is spicy, filling, $24.99 commitment. It comes with a whopping 1 pound spicy meatball and the coolest Bowser puffed pastry. The Block Tiramisu for $8.99 is our favorite.

Yoshi’s Snack Island

The Mango Smoothie is tasty and refreshing and I don’t know why the Red Shell Calzone isn’t talked about more!

The Bubbly Barrel

The DK Crush Float will turn heads when you pass fellow park goers. It’s pineapple banana soft serve with pineapple soda in a waffle bowl loaded up with sprinkles, toffee, and caramel popcorn! It costs $18.99 and it comes with a souvenir barrel mug.

Bonus Food and Drink Spot: Bar Helios

Bar Helios at Universal Helios Grand Hotel is the best place to escape the theme park crowds for a meal with a view.

Better yet, snag a late night reservation that overlaps the fireworks display in the park for the most dazzling view you can imagine.

The bar serves tapas, seafood and specialty cocktails.

A large hotel, called Helios, is a great place to take a breather. Visiting their top floor bar is one of our favorite Epic Universe Tips.
