Girls Trip Getaways

For the Sun-Seekers

Puerto Rico

If your ideal girls’ trip involves tropical vibes but you don’t want the hassle of passports (for U.S. travelers), Puerto Rico is it.

Start your trip with a day in Old San Juan. The colorful buildings, cobblestone streets, and historic forts make it one of the most charming places to wander. Stop by Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a 16th-century fortress with panoramic views, then grab a piña colada at Barrachina, where the drink was supposedly invented.

We also recommend a sunset dinner at Santaella, an upscale restaurant known for incredible Puerto Rican food.

At night, hit up La Factoría for cocktails or find a rooftop bar with a killer view.

Hike through El Yunque National Rainforest, for waterfall pools, lush greenery, and scenic views.

Book a kayaking tour of a bioluminescent bay—it’s pure magic paddling through glowing waters. The best one is on the island of Vieques and requires an overnight stay.

Speaking of Vieques, consider taking a day trip (or staying overnight) to this stunning island. It’s less crowded than the main island, with quiet beaches, wild horses roaming freely, and a relaxed, laid-back atmosphere.

Puerto Rico has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Try Flamenco Beach on Culebra Island for turquoise water, or stick to Isla Verde for easy access near San Juan.

Girls Weekend Getaways

Clearwater, Florida

Clearwater is all about laid-back beach vibes, amazing sunsets, and good food, making it a perfect spot for a stress-free girls’ getaway. The soft, white sand and clear blue water make this one of Florida’s best beach towns.

Start your day with a morning beach walk, then grab brunch at Clear Sky Beachside Café or Another Broken Egg Café (be sure to try their Mimosas).

After that, it’s all about relaxing by the ocean. Rent chairs and umbrellas and take a dip in the warm Gulf water.

If your group wants to get active, try paddleboarding or parasailing.

For lunch or dinner, hit up Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill, a beachfront staple known for its famous grouper sandwich and tropical cocktails.

Afterward, browse the cute boutiques along Mandalay Avenue before heading back to the beach for Sunsets at Pier 60. Every evening, street performers, artists, and vendors gather to celebrate the sunset—it’s a fun, casual way to end the day.

If you want a more upscale dinner spot, Beachcomber is a great pick. Or check out Columbia Restaurant in nearby Sand Key, a historic Spanish restaurant with amazing paella and sangria.

If you’re in the mood for nightlife, Shephard’s Tiki Beach Bar has live music and an oceanfront dance floor that’s perfect for a girls weekend getaway.

For the Mountain Lovers

Asheville, North Carolina

Asheville is a dream girls trip getaway if your crew loves mountain views, great food, wine or beer, and a laid-back, artsy vibe.

Start your weekend with a drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the most scenic routes in the country. If you’re visiting in fall, expect stunning colors. There are plenty of easy pull-offs for photo ops, and if you’re up for a short hike, Skinny Dip Falls is a great choice.

For history, wine and grandeur, tour The Biltmore Estate—an impressive European-style mansion with beautiful gardens and an on-site winery. You can spend an entire afternoon wandering the estate and sipping wine.

Food is a big deal in Asheville. Buxton Hall BBQ serves incredible Carolina-style barbecue, and Hole Doughnuts makes fresh, crispy-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside doughnuts.

If you’re looking for a spot to fuel up for the day, Sunny Point Café has amazing farm-to-table brunch options.

For nightlife, Asheville’s breweries are where it’s at. Wicked Weed and Burial Beer Co. are local favorites, and if your group prefers cocktails, The Montford Rooftop Bar has mountain views that make every drink taste better.

Wrap up your trip with a spa day at The Omni Grove Park Inn, where you can indulge in underground grotto-style pools and get a massage with views of the mountains.

For the City Adventurers

New Orleans, Louisiana

If you want a girls trip getaway that’s a little bit spooky, a lot of fun, and packed with amazing food and history, New Orleans is for you.

While Mardi Gras itself is chaos, the weeks leading up to it are perfect—you still get the festive parades, but with way fewer crowds.

Take a haunted tour through the French Quarter. NOLA is one of the most haunted cities in the U.S., and whether you believe in ghosts or not, the history is fascinating. If you’re into true crime, check out The LaLaurie Mansion—it’s equal parts creepy and interesting.

When it’s time for a cocktail, head to the Carousel Bar inside Hotel Monteleone. The bar literally spins (slowly, don’t worry), and it’s a classic New Orleans experience.

For food, you have to get beignets from Café du Monde—don’t even try to avoid the powdered sugar mess, just embrace it. There are multiple locations, so don’t feel like you need to wait in the obnoxious lines at the original cafe. For a sit-down meal, go to Commander’s Palace for an upscale brunch or Cochon for Cajun flavors.

Wrap up the night with a river cruise on the Steamboat Natchez, wander down the boozy Bourbon Street, or head to Frenchman Street for live jazz music. Either way, expect to stay out way later than planned.

For dinner, you have to eat at Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar. It’s dark, moody, and has some of the best margaritas you’ll ever taste. Be sure to indulge in their cotton candy dessert, which comes out looking like a cloud. (Snag a reservation.) Another option is Neptune Oyster, which serves some of the best lobster rolls in the city.

End the night with drinks at Drink—a cool, speakeasy-style bar where the bartenders make you a cocktail based on what you like instead of handing you a menu.

During your visit, take a day trip to Salem, MA and take a ghost tour.
