What’s So Special About Spring Training?
There’s something uniquely magical about spring training games. The relaxed atmosphere, the anticipation of a new season, and the chance to see your favorite players up close all contribute to an unforgettable experience.
For Milwaukee Brewers fans, these games offer a rare opportunity to watch the team play in a more intimate setting.
Players often take the time to engage with fans, sign autographs, and even toss balls into the stands – this is especially true for kids.
Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training Tips
Want to elevate your experience at a Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training game? Here are some key things to know before you go.
Parking
Fortunately, parking onsite is relatively straightforward, with costs typically ranging from $10 to $15.
While it may be tempting to park for free on the street, we strongly recommend opting for onsite parking. The convenience and security it provides far outweigh the savings from parking elsewhere.
(The surrounding area isn’t the safest neighborhood.)
Weekday Games
Weekday games typically have fewer attendees, which makes securing tickets less competitive and you can move about the stadium as you’d like.
Less crowds also increases your family’s likelihood of getting thrown a game ball or snagging an autograph after the game.
Best Value: Lawn Seating
For those looking to strike a balance between cost and experience, lawn seating is your best bet. Purchasing the cheapest ticket offers incredible value and flexibility, allowing you to sit almost anywhere you’d like. We started in the sun for the first half of the game, then retreated to the shady first base side by the 5th inning.
Lawn seating provides a casual, picnic-like atmosphere where families can spread out a blanket and enjoy the game from the hillside.
Perks for Kids
Spring training games are a fantastic opportunity to create special memories for children. Be sure to stop by guest services if it’s your child’s first time attending a game. They’ll receive a special certificate to commemorate the occasion, along with a free ice cream—a delightful treat that would normally cost $10!
Players often engage with young fans, throwing balls into the stands and even signing autographs (more on that later).
Other Activities for Kids
If the kids are getting squirrely during the game, work out the jitters at the Kids Corner. There’s a speed pitch inflatable, yard games, and more for the kids.
Taste of Home
You’ll notice some familiar faces down in Phoenix! Don’t miss the Sausage Race!

Our kids picked up a pack of the new season’s baseball cards too.
Score Free Swag
Stop by the American Family Insurance kiosk and enter your contact info for free Brewers themed gifts. We received a burlap Brewers tote bag and cool Cactus League pins.
Catch the Action Before the Game
To maximize your Milwaukee Brewers spring training experience, arrive early at the ballpark. This gives you the chance to catch the team in action during a practice session on one of the adjacent fields.
Watching the players warm up provides a glimpse into their pre-game routines. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at the hard work that goes into preparing for the season.
If you hang around as they leave, you might be lucky enough to snag a ball or even an autograph from a player or staff member. This added bonus can be a highlight of the day, especially for young fans eager to meet their heroes.
How to Get an Autograph (or Two)
Speaking of autographs. If you don’t get one before the game, you’ll have another chance post-game. Wait near the areas where players walk off the fields, and you might be in luck.
Players are often more relaxed during spring training, making them more likely to stop and sign autographs for enthusiastic fans.
Be sure to have a pen or sharpie and ball ready, just in case. With a little patience and the right timing, your child could walk away with a treasured keepsake.
Carry Ins at American Family Field
Follow the same carry in rules as you would at American Family Field in Milwaukee. Carry in snacks should be packed in clear plastic bags 12″ x 12″ x 6″ or smaller. A one gallon Ziploc bag works well. Guests are allowed to carry in one sealed non alcoholic beverage per person.
If your bag is smaller than 9” x 5” x 2” it doesn’t have to be transparent. (i.e. Cross body bags, fanny packs, wristlets)
Opt for cream sunscreen and not aerosol sprays.

My favorite pastime is finding fun, interesting experiences to share with family and friends.
I’m a mom of two energetic and curious boys who have endless patience with my tendency to over plan activities on our family vacations. My tireless husband, Troy, provides comic relief, is our favorite photographer, and expert navigator.
