If you’re looking up things to do in 30A Florida, there’s a good chance you’re already dreaming about white sand, easy mornings, and days that don’t need much planning to feel full.

Our favorite beach towns on Highway 30A are Seaside, Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, and Grayton Beach which each have uniqueness to their appeal. These towns each feel thoughtfully designed, elevated, yet completely unpretentious at the same time.

This guide rounds up the best things to do in 30A Florida, weaving together local favorites, slow travel moments, and personal experiences that make it a place I keep talking about long after unpacking. A recent trip to Rosemary Beach was one of my favorite Girls Trip Destinations to date!

Top Things to do in 30A Florida

This stretch of Scenic Highway 30A is about wandering into places that catch your eye, lingering over good food, and letting the day unfold at its own pace. That said, if you’re like me, you like to know what awaits you! Here are the top things to do in 30A Florida.

Shop Local (and Uniquely 30A)

Shopping here is thoughtful rather than flashy, making it one of the more satisfying things to do in 30A Florida.

  • Toy stores like Duckies and Gigi’s are charming stops for families or those shopping for the children in their lives.
  • Hidden Lantern and Sundog are fantastic bookstores that invite browsing without pressure.
  • Apparel boutiques including Ex Voto, Willow Boutique, Faherty, Disco, and Cabana by the Seaside Style sell effortless style.
  • Gift shops like The Art of Simple, Rosemary Beach Trading Co., and the Mercantile in Seaside are beautiful curated. You’ll find giftable items and souvenirs you’ll want to showcase in your home.

Create a Custom Souvenir

Custom keepsakes add a personal layer to the trip, turning a travel moment into something tangible you’ll treasure.

Permanent Jewelry

A subtle bracelet or anklet, welded in place, becomes a wearable reminder of your time along 30A. It’s minimalist, meaningful, and far more personal than a traditional souvenir. Mine features my children’s birthstones. I had a fantastic experience at Seaside’s Lala Links, but you could also get permanent jewelry at Creatively Bent in Rosemary Beach.

Custom Bandanas for Your Pup

A fun and unexpected keepsake, custom dog bandanas let you bring 30A style home for your four-legged companion. You choose the fabric and thread color and within an hour or two, your custom bandana will be ready!

Blend a Custom Scent at Patchouli’s

Creating your own fragrance at Patchouli’s is one of the most personal souvenirs you can make. You’ll work through scent notes to design something entirely your own—one smell later and you’re instantly back on 30A. Select from roll on scents, lotion, or body sprays.

Eat Your Way Through 30A

Dining is easily one of the most memorable things to do in 30A Florida, and the food scene punches far above what you’d expect from a beach town.

Fresh Gulf seafood anchors most menus; seared tuna, flaky fish tacos, oysters, and thoughtfully prepared coastal dishes. Southern comfort food plays a role too, with shrimp, grits and rich sauces.

  • Gallion’s is a must. The butter candle was a fun way to start our meal and their cocktails and tuna sealed the deal.
  • Pescado delivers elevated coastal flavors with views that transport you to the Greek Isles.
  • Cowgirl Kitchen is casual in the best way. Stop for lunch al fresco and pair your meal with a local brew.
  • La Crema is ideal for small plates. The paella, brussel sprouts, and chocolate menu deserve your attention.
  • Paradys and The Havana Beach Bar & Grill (inside The Pearl) offer chic and upscale dining experiences.
  • Daytrader in Seaside goes over the top with seasonal cocktails, great energy, and is very photogenic.
  • The food trucks in Seaside’s Truman Show Village great options for quick service or easy carry out for the beach.

Coffee Stops Worth Planning Around

Another favorite category of things to do in 30A Florida is finding the perfect coffee stop…and then another.

  • 3rd Cup in Rosemary Beach – try their vanilla cold foam
  • Black Bear Bread Co in Santa Rosa Beach for pastry pairings
  • Amavida in Seaside for strong coffee and artsy vibes
  • Fonville Press in Alys Beach for polished decor, breakfast sandwiches, and excellent espresso
  • Bonus spot on the way toward PCB: The Salty Bottle & Brew in Carillon Beach is a relaxed spot to hang out

Explore Florida State Parks Along 30A

Not all things to do in 30A Florida involve sand and cocktails. Tucked between polished beach towns, Florida’s State Parks offer a version of 30A that feels refreshingly untouched.

Grayton Beach State Park is a standout that has been ranked multiple times among the most beautiful beaches in the country, with sugar-white sand, calm emerald water, and rare coastal dune lakes. The hiking trails wind through scrub oak, pine forests, and along Western Lake.

Just west of 30A, Topsail Hill Preserve State Park has an almost rugged feel to the landscape. Towering dunes, long boardwalks, and quiet trails make it ideal for hiking or biking.

On the eastern end of the 30A corridor, Deer Lake State Park offers one of the most serene experiences in the area. A long boardwalk leads through dunes and wetland before opening onto an unspoiled stretch of beach.

Further inland, Point Washington State Forest has miles of trails for hiking and biking. Its forest showcases a different side of the Gulf Coast.

See the Sights from The Truman Show in Seaside

One of the most unexpectedly fun things to do in 30A Florida is stepping into a movie set you’ve probably seen before. Seaside was the primary filming location for The Truman Show, and walking through town still feels a bit surreal if you know the film.

The pastel cottages, white picket fences, and impossibly tidy streets are instantly recognizable. The Seaside Pavilion and beachfront area feature prominently in the movie, and even the town square feels like it was designed for a camera.

You can even see the Truman House at 31 Natchez St, Santa Rosa Beach.

Arrange a Beach Bonfire

A private bonfire experience is one of those indulgent things to do in 30A Florida that is unforgettable. A private company will have your chairs set up in the sand, a crackling fire, and s’more supplies at the ready.

It’s ideal for families, groups of friends, or couples who want something memorable. The more people you’re bringing, the more cost effective this becomes.

Drink Local Along 30A

Sampling local beverages is another classic entry on the list of things to do in 30A Florida.

  • 30A Wine
  • Grayton Beer Company
  • Idyll Hounds Brewing

Even if you don’t go to the taprooms themselves, you’ll find these readily available on the shelves at local markets.

Don’t Skip Dessert

Dessert is practically its own category of things to do in 30A Florida. You can’t go wrong with the ice cream shops (although we try to veer away from the Kilwin’s chain, personally.)

The Fancy Bananas at Nigel’s also stood out to us as well as the Chocolate Menu at La Crema.

Bike the Length of 30A

The flat terrain and scenic paths make biking an easy way to move between towns, beaches, and coffee stops. There are many rental companies that dot highway 30A. One of the most convenient is Kickstand in Seacrest.

Explore Local Farmers Markets Along 30A

Markets in Seaside and Rosemary Beach offer everything from fresh produce and Gulf seafood to unexpected finds like mushroom nutrition blends, handmade skincare, knitwear, jewelry, tamales, and bakery treats.

  • Seaside: Saturdays 9am-1pm
  • Rosemary Beach: Sundays 9am-1pm

One of the most enjoyable things to do in 30A Florida is browsing the booths to soak in the community vibe.

Spend an Evening at The Big Chill

Among the more lively things to do in 30A Florida, The Big Chill stands out as a perfect evening hub.

It’s an open-air entertainment space lined with boutique shops and eateries, often with live music or outdoor movies. Check their event schedule to see what’s going on during your visit.

Gulf Sunsets

Every evening, people drift toward the beach with drinks in hand, ready to pause and watch the sky change.

Make sure you know what time sunset is during your stay (it has a way of sneaking up on you in winter months). Head to the beach 10 minutes beforehand.

Open containers are allowed on 30a, so pick up a cocktail or local beer to take with you.

Celebrate the Season

There’s no shortage of holiday cheer along 30A. The communities go all out with Christmas lights and decorations, holiday menus, and festive events like evenings with Santa, Polar Express outdoor screenings, and Children’s Holiday Markets.

It’s one of the top places in the USA to celebrate Christmas.

Where to Stay in 30A

Choosing the right property while planning things to do in 30A Florida is the most important decision you’ll make.

Look for amenities like easy beach access (public access points are spread out), bikes, beach chairs, coolers, and beach toys.

We can’t stop gushing about the spacious property we stayed in Alys Beach. It had a beach cart stocked with everything needed for long afternoons in the sand, an extremely well-equipped kitchen, three bathrooms, a generous living area, a patio with ocean views, and a heated pool.

It makes relaxing effortless and turns downtime into one of the highlights of the trip.

Final Thoughts on Things to Do in 30A Florida

The communities that dot 30A create a destination that feels both curated and completely relaxed.

30A invites you to slow down and stay awhile so you feel settled enough to enjoy what’s right in front of you. And that, more than anything, is why people keep coming back.

  1. I had never heard of 30A despite being from Florida. We love the white sand beaches of the gulf coast (around Upper Captiva, Sanibel), but haven’t taken the time to explore the areas closer to the panhandle.
